Do your clients/ staff want to:
Rediscover their creativity and motivation?
Gain fresh perspectives ?
Boost their confidence and self esteem?
Journal therapy or journal writing is a form of expressive therapy that uses the act of writing down your thoughts, feelings into words and processing them.
It is based on the belief that recording memories, concerns and problems can help, promote health and well being and lead to self discovery and personal growth.
Health Benefits
Pennebaker, a professor in the Department of Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin and author of several books, including “Opening Up” and “Writing to Heal,” is a pioneer in the study of using expressive writing as a route to healing.
His research has shown that writing about stressful and traumatic events:
- Bolster your immune system
- Ease stress and depression
- Recover more successfully from traumatic events
- Enhance your overall well-being
